DEALING WITH YOUR ADDICTION
=======
Many abnormal things are gradually becoming normal in our today’s world. Many get stuck in an unhealthy habit thinking that it does not matter. I was in a service sometimes ago and a very crucial topic “repentance” was the central topic that was discussed during the search the scripture section.

As the teaching was going on, the teacher spoke about how believers will never see the the need for repentance. What their thoughts is focused on anytime they hear such topic is that adulterers, fornicators and so on, are those that need it. They are self righteous even though they stylishly tell lies while talking, correct others in anger and believe in themselves.

Addiction is simply something you cannot do without, that is, an habit. It is something that you are devoted to or always obsessed with. It could also be something that takes God’s place in other to satisfy your human craving. Take it or leave it, everyone is addicted to something! What it is, is what matters. Addiction doesn’t start in a day, it emanate from a conscious or unconscious act.

The continuity of this act then amount to become an addiction. Addiction could be major or minor. Either ways, addiction is addiction! That’s why it is not just with sensual and sexual habits like pornography, it could also be things you are not paying attention to.

For example, you can be addicted to pressing phone, watching movies, talking aimlessly and overeating among many. As soon as you notice that an abnormal trait or habit is becoming part of you and you are gradually finding it hard to do without it, take action by getting rid of it. Below 👇👇👇 are practical steps to do so.

✓Identify how long the habit has been gaining mastery over you.
✓Identify the cause.
✓Consciously stop that habit by staying away from it. For example, if your addiction is pressing phone, you might need to take social media retreat for you to get your balance.
