CONTENT VS CONTAINER
=====
I sometimes heard of a school of thought which says that what matters to God is what you have inside of you and not your physical appearance. Yet, another says a book should not be judged by it’s cover. Meaning that It’s possible a book cover looks attractive but the content is nothing to write about and vice versa. I’m not here to argue or condemn anyone but to strike a balance in accordance to the laid down standard in the holy book.
=====
For clarity sake, a container is what houses a content while the content is the substance inside the container. If I may ask, should any be highly prioritized than the other? NO! The preservation of the kind of fruit your life bears is a function of the health of both the content and the container (see Matthew 9:17b). That’s why proper attention should be given to both.
=====
What kind of container are you and how valuable is the content in your container? Let’s check this👇👇👇
Romans 12:1
And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy—the kind he can accept…
1 Corinthians 6:19
Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you.
=====
The scripture do not give us any benefit of doubt but clearly showed us the importance of having a clean, holy container(your body) and a valuable content(the inner virtues you possess). How do you explain to us that your content is pure while the adornment of your container is not different from that of an harlot? The sincere truth is that what we see on your outside is birthed from what oozes from your inside. Your outward appearance is a reflection of your inner make-up.
=====
As you journey through the second half of the year and go about with your day-to-day activities, see to it that your container represent and reflect the life of God(Zoe) in you. Also, if all you’ve been paying attention to before now is just your container, endeavor to feed your inner man with the undiluted word of God. Shalom!
