Dear Young Girls,
I’m glad to write you again after a long period of time and I hope you will be blessed by it. In my previous write-ups, I’ve had to discuss topics like character, dressing and so on. But today, I will like to talk about the response of young girls to the transitioning stage that upgrades them from childhood to adulthood called “Adolescence”.
The Oxford dictionary defined adolescence as the transitional period of physical and psychological development between childhood and maturity(mind you, maturity is not defined by age. It’s about how you handle situations at hand and live responsibly). The body and mind go through different complex changes of which some of it are difficult to deal it.
The reality about this transition that takes place is that, the pressure that comes with it makes young girls to misbehave and become adamant to instructions and corrections given to them. Some even go to the extent of disrespecting and dishonoring their parents. Young girls in their teen age find it so hard to relate with their mothers because they think that they are not well informed about what goes on in the society. As much as you see this stage as a time of freedom, it is also one of the most critical time of your life whereby whatsoever you do will either make or mar you.
One major thing you must be careful of is the kind of friends you move with; this is one of the important decisions you will make. Many are your class mates but not all are fit to be your friend. Choose wisely! An adage says ” show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”. The sincere truth is that you look like those you walk and interact with. Anyone who will always advice you wrongly(asking to tell lies, telling you to get a boyfriend and so on) or lure you to doing evil is not fit to be your friend. PLEASE DROP THEM!
Dear young girls, be careful with the way you interact with your mother. Don’t talk or answer her rudely. Put it at the back of your mind; whatsoever you sow,you will reap. Don’t do what will make her curse you. Always look for what to do that will make her bless you(i.e do household chores without her telling you, wash her clothes &undies). Motherly/Parental blessings will go a long way in your life if you will fulfill destiny. Be wise!
Yours Sincerely,
Akinmuyiwa Boluwatife
